Well, Never said I was all that smart ....

I got on the air with 11 Meters way back when .... and yes I was running POWER too ... also had a FINE receiver so I could listen in on the Ham Bands ... Also had one of the BEST Speakers EVER ... Why I let my Dad talk me into selling it, I'll NEVER Know!!!

Well after relocating once again in Houston ... I decided to learn CW and became a Novice ... with old converted 75 Meter ARC5's and a home brew power supply ..... However I was still playing with 11 meters SSB but no longer any power .....

Well after relocating after another divorce, and now a single parent I relocated to Bellaire, TX Inside of the 610 loop of Houston ... I decided to get serious about Amateur Radio. So I started buying all the Collins I could find ..... and this is where I Resurrected my Collins KWS-1 ..... However, you'll notice my ole Radio Shack 11 Meter rig up on the right hand corner of the operating position .... HOWEVER, I had at this time changed some Xtals in the PLL and converted it to a QRP 10 Meter rig! I STILL Own that radio !!!

Well, I have held every class of license (Novice, Tech, General & Advanced) up to now for some time just just so I could get the experience of each and I guess it's now time for me to think about going ahead and getting my EXTRA. However, once I do that I have NO proof that I was ever a REAL CW Operator, due to the change in requirements .... There are not many of us Advanced Class license holders out there anymore, Hi Hi ....
